This tournament is the first (of many we hope) to help raise awareness of the Tellico Blue Way Extension Project.

Capt. meeting at 7:00 a.m. and anglers released to fish right after the meeting.

This tournament is not a TKA event, but they will be using the TKA rules from here.

Rules: PARTICIPATION AND ELIGIBILITY
THE TOURNAMENTS ARE OPEN TO ALL ANGLERS PROVIDED THEY MEET THE REQUIREMENTS AND ALL RULES AND REGULATIONS STATED.

LIABILITY AND RELEASE:
1. ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST SIGN A LIABILITY AND RELEASE BEFORE THEY ARE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE.
2. ALL PARTICIPANTS UNDER THE AGE OF 18 MUST PRESENT A LIABILITY AND RELEASE SIGNED BY A LEGAL GUARDIAN BEFORE THEY ARE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE,
3. ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST CARRY A VALID TENNESSEE FISHING LICENSE AND MUST FOLLOW ALL STATE RULES.

ENTRY FEES:
ENTRY FEES ARE $25 FOR EACH TOURNAMENT
FULL ENTRY MUST BE PAID BY EACH PARTICIPANT PRIOR TO THE START OF FISHING. EXACT, CASH SPEEDS UP THE REGISTRATION PROCESS AND IS PREFERRED.

ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST SUBMIT A SIGNED WAIVER PRIOR TO FISHING.

WATERCRAFT:
1. ONLY MAN POWERED KAYAKS, CANOES, SUPS ARE PERMITTED. NO MOTORS (GAS OR ELECTRIC), NO RAFTS, NO SAIL BOATS, NO AIR TUBES, ETC. EXCEPTIONS TO THIS RULE MAY BE GRANTED BY TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR ON INDIVIDUAL BASIS.
2. ALL FISH MUST BE TAKEN FROM YOUR KAYAK . NO WADE FISHING. YOU ARE PERMITTED TO LEAVE YOUR WATERCRAFT BUT MUST FISH FROM INSIDE/ON IT.
3. ONLY ONE PAID PARTICIPANT PER WATERCRAFT.

LAUNCH POINT:
1. ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST LAUNCH FROM SHORE IN THEIR WATERCRAFT AND NO “MOTHER SHIPPING” OR TOWING BY POWER BOATS ALLOWED.
2.THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF “STARTS” FOR OUR EVENTS:
A. COMMON LAUNCH SIGHT/SHOTGUN START
B. ANY LEGAL LAUNCH WITHIN A GIVEN RADIUS/BOUNDARY/LAKE/RIVER ETC.

FISHING METHODS:
1. ONLY ARTIFICIAL BAITS/ LURES/FLIES ARE PERMITTED.
2. NO LIVE, OR ONCE ALIVE BAIT IS PERMITTED, AND THIS INCLUDES CHUMMING.
3.ROD AND REEL (INCLUDING FLY ROD AND REEL) ARE THE ONLY ACCEPTABLE FISHING METHOD. NO NETS, BOWS, ETC.
4.ANGLERS ARE ALLOWED TO FISH WITH ONLY ONE LINE IN THE WATER AT AT A TIME. THAT LINE IS ALLOWED TO HAVE UP TO 3 HOOKS, PER TENNESSEE FISHING REGULATIONS.

SAFETY REGULATIONS:
1. PFD MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES WHILE ON THE WATER! IF YOU NEED TO TAKE OFF YOUR PFD TO ADJUST COLTHING/ETC. YOU MUST PADDLE TO THE BANK AND TAKE CARE OF IT THERE. ANY ANGLER CAUGHT ON THE WATER WITHOUT WEARING THEIR PFD WILL DQ FROM THE EVENT.
2. NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES OR ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES MAY BE USED DURING THE EVENT. THAT INCLUDES TIME TIME FROM THE START OF THE CAPTAIN’S MEETING UNTIL THE FINAL AWARD IS AWARDED.
3. ANY ANGLER FOUND TO BE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF DRUGS OR ALCOHOL, WITHIN REASONABLE SUSPICION , WILL BE DQ FROM THE EVENT WITH NO REFUND OF FEES AND WILL HAVE ALL PICTURES OF THEIR FISH ERASED FROM THE RECORD.
4. THE USE OF LIGHTS/SAFETY FLAGS IS HIGHLY ENCOURAGED AND WILL BE REQUIREDIN FUTURE YEARS.

GENERAL RULES:
1.NO FISH WILL BE KEPT ON STRINGERS, ICE CHEST, ETC. DURING THE EVENT.
2. USE OF RUBBER BANDS, BUNGEE CORDS, STRINGER CLIPS ETC. TO RESTRAIN THE FISH TO THE MEASURING BOARD ISPROHIBITED. THE USE OF FISH GRIPS TO KEEP FISH IN THE WATER WHILE YOU SET UP YOUR PICTURE IS ALLOWED.
3. ALL FISH WILL BE RETURNED TO THE WATER ASAP AFTER THE TOURNAMENT PICTURE HAS BEEN TAKEN.
4.EACH FISH IS TO BE SUBMITTED ONLY ONE TIME. ANY ANGLER SUSPECTED OF USING THE SAME FISH TWICE WILL BE DQ. (THIS IS THE CALL OF THE ON SITE TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR)
5. ATTENDANCE AT THE CAPTAINS MEETING IS REQUIRED, UNLESS OTHER WISE NOTED BY THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR FOR THAT EVENT

QUALIFYING FISH:
1.LARGEMOUTH BASS, SMALLMOUTH BASS, SPOTTED BASS, RED EYE BASS. IDENTIFICATION CAN BE FOUND HERE ON PAGES 3-6 BLACK BASS ID.
2. CATCH, PHOTO, RELEASE (CPR) ONLY
3. ANY COMBINATION OF THE ABOVE FOUR FISH WILL COUNT TOWARDS YOU TOTAL.
4. THERE IS A THREE FISH LIMIT. EACH ANGLER CAN SUBMIT THEIR BEST THREE FISH OF THE DAY.
5. THE MINIMUM LENGTH IS 8 INCHES. EACH FISH MUST BE 8 INCHES OR LONGER TO COUNT TOWARDS YOUR TOURNAMENT TOTAL.

PHOTOS
1. PHOTO MUST INCLUDE THE ENTIRE FISH, NOSE TO TAIL.
2. FISH MUST BE FACING LEFT WITH DORSAL FIN UP.
3. LET THE FISH LIE ON THE BOARD IN A NATURAL POSITION. TAKE THE PICTURE TO GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR FISH WITHOUT MANIPULATING THE FISH IN ANY WAY.
4. THE FISH’S NOSE MUST BE TOUCHING THE BUMP ON THE BOARD WITH NOTHING BETWEEN THEM IN ANY WAY.
5. THE FISH CAN NOT BE RESTRAINED TO THE BOARD IN ANY WAY. NO BUNGEES, RUBBER BANDS, ETC.
6. TAKE A PICTURE OF YOUR ID ONLY FIRST, THEN TAKE AS MANY PICTURES OF THE FISH AS YOU FEEL NECESSARY, THEN TAKE ANOTHER PICTURE OF THE ID ONLY. IT WILL HELP DISTINGUISH THE FISH DURING JUDGING.

MEASURING DEVICE:
1. THE PREFERRED MEASURING DEVICE IS THE HAWG TROUGH. THEY CAN BE PURCHASED FROM HOOK1 AMONG OTHER RETAILERS.
2. IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT YOU DARKEN THE NUMBERS/LINES ON YOUR BOARD IN ORDER TO MAKE IT BETTER TO SEE IN THE PHOTOS. IF THE LINES ARE NOT DISTINGUISHABLE THE FISH MAY NOT BE ABLE TO BE SCORED.
3. ANY OTHER MEASURING DEVICE MUST BE APPROVED BY THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR BEFORE THE TOURNAMENT BEGINS.

JUDGING:
1. ANGLER’S PHOTOS WILL BE JUDGED BY A PANEL DESIGNATED BY TKA
2. EACH ANGLER WILL SUBMIT PHOTOS VIA MEMORY CARD OR BY TURNING IN THEIR DEVICE.
3. EACH ANGLER WILL TURN IN A SCORE CARD FILLED OUT WITH THE LENGTH OF EACH FISH CAUGHT. WHEN SCORING YOUR OWN FISH ROUND DOWN TO THE NEAREST 1/4 INCH. WHEN IN DOUBT GUESS LOW NOT HIGH. IF WE DEEM THE FISH TO CUT THE NEXT 1/4 INCH LINE WE WILL AWARD YOU THAT DURING THE FINAL JUDGING.
4. EACH FISH WILL BE JUDGED TO THE NEAREST 1/4 INCH. THE TOTAL OF ALL THE ANGLERS FISH (UP TO 5 FISH) WILL BE ADDED TO GET THAT ANGLER’S SCORE.
5. IN THE EVENT OF A TIE, THE ANGLER THAT SUBMITTED THEIR SCORE CARD FIRST WILL BE AWARDED THE HIGHER POSITION.
6. PHOTOS THAT DO NOT MEET THE REQUIREMENTS WILL NOT BE COUNTED. TKA TOURNAMENT DIRECTER WILL DETERMINE IF THE PHOTOS MEET THE REQUIREMENTS.

FINAL WEIGH IN:
1. ANGLERS WILL MEET BACK AT A DESIGNATED LOCATION AT A DESIGNATED TIME. THERE IS A 15 MINUTE GRACE PERIOD AFTER THE DESIGNATED MEETING TIME. AFTER THE GRACE PERIOD THERE IS A PENALTY OF 1 INCH FOR EVERY 5 MINUTES THE ANGLER IS LATE UP TO 3 INCHES. AFTER 30 MINUTES THE ANGLER IS DQ.
2. EACH ANGLER IS TO GET IN LINE, FILL OUT THEIR SCORE CARD, AND WAIT TO TURN IN THEIR MEMORY CARD/DEVICE.
3. ONCE ALL THE FISH HAVE BEEN JUDGED AND LOGGED IN. THE WINNERS WILL BE ANNOUNCED.
4. ONCE THE AWARDS HAVE BEEN PRESENTED THE TOURNAMENT IS FINAL, EVEN IN THE EVENT OF A MISTAKE.

RULES INTERPRETATION AND PROTEST:
1. ALL RULES ARE INTERPRETED BY THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR.
2. ALL DECISIONS BY THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR ARE FINAL.
3. ALL PROTEST SHALL BE BROUGHT TO THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR’S ATTENTION IMMEDIATELY.
4. ONCE THE AWARDS ARE PRESENTED, ALL THE RESULTS ARE FINAL EVEN IN THE EVENT OF AN ERROR.

DELAYS/RESCHEDULES/CANCELLATIONS:
1. THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR MAY DELAY/RESCHEDULE/CANCEL AN EVENT IN THE CASE OF SEVERE WEATHER. IF ENTRY FEES HAVE ALL READY BEEN PAID, THE MONEY MAY BE REFUNDED.
2. THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS IN THE EVENT OF NO SHOWS
