    Tournament Director Participation

    The Tournament Director has the ability to fish any of these tournaments. The TD will fall under the same rules as everyone else. The TD will have his fish verified by a random participant(s) at each event. If anyone requests to see the TD’s submitted fish, the TD must submit to this request. If anyone has any issues with the TD fishing an event, please announce your concerns of this at your time of registration and at the captains meeting, or for any online events, send an email voicing your concerns. The TD still has the ability to fish, but can consider backing out if there is anglers that have a concern.

    Any disagreements on rulings involving the TD will be voted on by the anglers in attendance.

    Tournament Format:

    Virginia Kayak Bass Challenge are 5-fish Catch-Photo-Release (CPR) tournament. The five longest bass submitted by a Competitor, will post to his score and will determine the final ranking.

     

    Event Registration:

    Registration for live events, will be handled before the Captains meeting for each event.

    $30 Entry Fee and $10 optional for Big Bass Pot unless otherwise specified.

    CLASSIC

    $40 Entry Fee and $10 optional for Big Bass Pot.

     

    Competition Rules:

    The rules are in two parts. Competition Rules Standards (KayakTournaments.com/Rules) and the specific Competition Rules Addendum.

    By registering, each competitor acknowledges he has read and agrees to abide by (a.) the Competition Rules Standards (including the Release and Indemnification Agreement and Copyright and Use of Images Agreement) and to (b.) the specific rules outlined in the Competition Rules Addendum on this page; and

    The competitor further agrees to abide by the KBF Event Participation Terms and Conditions.

     

    Competition Period:

    Competition start, end, and check-in times, will be announced at the Captains Meetings.

     

    Boundaries

    Anglers may fish anywhere on the body of water that the tournament is held on, that can be reached by paddling a kayak from the main body of water.

    Competitors are restricted to only the Virginia waters. If the body of water where a tournament is held, crosses state lines, you cannot cross state lines to put in, but you can fish anywhere a Virginia fishing licence allows.

     

    Identifier:

    Identifier card and code will be released at the time of registration (Or on TourneyX.com dashboard).

     

    Eligible Water & Boundaries:

    Competitors may launch from any public-access shore, public boat ramp, fee ramps. Any private property that does not deny anyone access, to use, or pay to use is allowed. Crossing restricted property to reach eligible water is not permitted.

    Anglers may fish anywhere on the body of water that the tournament is held on, that can be paddled to by kayak, within a 25 mile radius of the tournament headquarters.

    Competitors are restricted to only Virginia waters. If the body of water where a tournament is held, crosses state lines, you cannot cross state lines to put in, but you can fish anywhere a Virginia fishing licence allows).

     

    Awarding of Prizes

    97% of entry fees will be paid out throughout the whole tournament series.

     

    Tournament will pay out the 1 spot for every 6 anglers.

    ex: 1-6 entries    =   1 place paid – 1st place; 100%

        7-12 entries   =   2 places paid – 1st place; 60%: 2nd place; 40%

        13-18 entries  =   3 places paid – 1st place; 50%: 2nd place; 30%: 3rd place; 20%

        19-24 entries  =   4 places paid – 1st place; 47%: 2nd place; 27%: 3rd place; 17%: 4th place; 9%

        25+ entries   =   5 places paid – 1st place; 45%: 2nd place; 25%: 3rd place; 15%: 4th place; 9%: 5th place; 6%

        Up to 5 spots paid out.

     

    Angler Of The Year Points

    After each tournament, Competitors will receive points for the A.O.Y. Leaderboard. First place will receive 100 points and every place after that, will receive -2 points from the place ranking above. Any and all anglers that did not submit any fish will receive -5 points from the last competitor that submitted fish.

    The A.O.Y. will be given to Competitor with the most points, in the defined amount of tournaments (THAT NUMBER IS STILL TBD. One or more of each Competitor’s lowest scores will be dropped, depending on the number of tournaments).

    1st place – 100 points
    2nd place – 98 points
    3rd place – 96 points
    4th place – 94 points
    And so on.

    KBF National Championship Qualifying Slots

    Winning a “KBF National Championship Qualifying Slot” means that the Competitor is now eligible to fish in the Kayak Bass Fishing NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.

    KBF NC Qualifying spot will be awarded to the top two points leaders for A.O.Y., and the top three finishers at the VKBC Classic. To be eligible for the slots, anglers must currently be a KBF members and must also be a KBF member for the year the follows.

     

    Disputes and Appeals

    Any Competitor who wishes to dispute or protest a rules violation penalty, a judge’s scoring decision, or other action that materially affected the Competitor’s ranking or prize eligibility must file a protest with the Tournament Director in writing or via email within 24 hours from the time and date of the protested action. Only Competitors in the Tournament where the protested action occurred may lodge protests. Protests must be handled privately. All parties of interest will be provided a copy. The Tournament Director will review the Competitor’s claims, thoroughly investigate the disputed decision, and issue a ruling.

    The Competitor who filed the protest may appeal the Tournament Director’s ruling. Appeals of rulings must be presented to KayakTournaments.com management in writing or via email 48 hours from the time and date of ruling. The Appeals Processing Fee is $100, which may be paid to Casey Reed, KayakTournaments.com via cash, check, or PayPal Funds Transfer. KayakTournaments.com will impanel an appeals committee comprised of at least three people from the KBF Advisory Group, that were not involved directly in directing or judging the Tournament. Appeals hearings shall take place within seven (7) business days from the date of receipt of the written appeal, and all parties must make themselves available at prescribed time of hearing. Decisions of the appeals committee are final. If the appeals committee rules in the Competitor favor and reverses or nullifies the ruling, then the entire Appeal Processing Fee will be refunded; however, if the ruling stands, then the Fee is forfeited.

    Waiver and Release of Liability

    As a condition of participation in a Competition, and by virtue of registering for the Competition, each Competitor agrees to accept the terms and condition of the Kayak Bass Fishing Waiver and Release of Liability Agreement (below). This Agreement absolves Kayak Bass Fishing, LLC, its officers, staff, volunteers, and partner groups from responsibility and threat of litigation in the case of injury, loss, or death sustained by a Competitor in the Event. Registrants under the age of 18 must have their waiver/release form signed by the parent or adult guardian who will accompany them throughout competition. A printed copy of the Kayak Bass Fishing Waiver and Release Form (below) is available at the Event HQ Check-in Table and must be signed and on file with Kayak Bass Fishing, LLC before a registrant is eligible to compete.

    KAYAK BASS FISHING WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY AGREEMENT

    READ BEFORE REGISTERING FOR ANY KBF COMPETITIVE EVENT AND/OR SIGNING THIS AGREEMENT
    In consideration of being allowed to participate in any way in the Kayak Bass Fishing, LLC’s Event and its related competition and activities, I, the undersigned (or registrant), being at least 18 years of age, acknowledge, appreciate, and agree that:
    I affirm that my participation in any KBF Event is voluntary and declare that I am physically fit and capable to participate in such; and
    I acknowledge that kayak fishing participation and competition involves certain inherent dangers, and hazards; that the risk of injury from the activities involved in this event is significant, including the potential for permanent paralysis and death, and while particular skills, physical fitness, equipment, and personal discipline may reduce this risk, the risk of serious injury does exist; and,
    I KNOWINGLY AND FREELY ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS, both known and unknown, EVEN IF ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES or others, and assume full responsibility for my participation; and,
    I willingly agree to comply with the stated and customary Terms and Conditions for Participation. If, however, I observe any unusual significant hazard during my presence or participation, I will remove myself from participation and immediately bring such to the attention of KBF Officers or Tournament Directors; and,
    in full recognition and appreciation of the dangers and risks inherent in such activities, I, for myself and on behalf of my heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, HEREBY RELEASE, INDEMNIFY, AND HOLD HARMLESS KAYAK BASS FISHING, LLC and its owners, officers, managers, officials, volunteer event staff, agents and/or employees, other participants, sponsoring agencies, sponsors, advertisers, event service and technology providers (including but not limited to TourneyX), and, if applicable, owners and lessors of premises used for the activity (“Releasees”), with respect to any and all injury, disability, death, or loss or damage to person or property, whether arising from the negligence of the releasees or otherwise, to the fullest extent permitted by law, and I hereby waive, release, and forever discharge Releasees from and against any and all claims, demands, actions, or causes of action, for costs, loss, expenses, or damages to personal property, or personal injury, or death, which may result from my participation in the KBF Event.
    I HAVE READ THIS RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK AGREEMENT, FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS, UNDERSTAND THAT I HAVE GIVEN UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS BY SIGNING IT, AND SIGN IT FREELY AND VOLUNTARILY WITHOUT ANY INDUCEMENT.

    In consideration of being allowed to participate in any way in the Kayak Bass Fishing, LLC’s Event and its related competition and activities, I, the undersigned (or Registrant), being under the age of 18, acknowledge, appreciate, and agree that:
    I affirm that Registrant’s participation in any KBF Event is voluntary and declare that Registrant is physically fit and capable to participate in such; and
    I acknowledge that kayak fishing participation and competition involves certain inherent dangers, and hazards; that the risk of injury from the activities involved in this event is significant, including the potential for permanent paralysis and death, and while particular skills, physical fitness, equipment, and personal discipline may reduce this risk, the risk of serious injury does exist; and,
