Old Town Predator – How you can remove your seat

Have you ever wondered how to get your seat out of your Predator kayak? Well here is Old Town Pro-Staffer, Randy Vining with a short video explaining how he modified his kayak to remove the seat, and also make the seat slide from the up to down position with ease. Make sure you read the following, for issues this could possibly cause for you.

Randy also mentions that this is not an approved modification by Old Town and it could possibly void your warranty. Randy usually keeps his seat in the high position, so there is no effect on this bracket modification. If you are really heavy I can see this not working if you paddle in the low position. When you cut the bracket, there is no support on the lower part. He has yet to come across any issues.

He also say’s that removal of the “nub” does allow the seat to move from low to high easily. But if you have it in the high position and just fold the seat back to stand in that area, your back seat bar is going to fall down into the low position. He said that’s not a problem since you can easily move it but that’s why the “nub” is there.
